(ROCKLAND, MAINE – FULLER AUTO MALL) - On Saturday, September 29,
2007 the Rockland Kiwanis Club drew the winning ticket for their
grand raffle of a 2007 Jeep Wrangler at Rockland Fuller Auto Mall.
Michael Kushner of Rockland held the winning ticket which he
purchased through Kiwanian Edward Miller. Country 103.3, a
ClearChannel Station, hosted the event live and Don Shields drew the
winning ticket at 3:50 pm.
There are only 400 tickets in total available for sale and the
Kiwanis group successfully sold all 400 tickets enabling the group
to raise close to $20,000 in funds. These funds will be filtered
back into the community for local children’s causes, organizations
and scholarships.
The best part of this story is the winner, Michael Kushner was so
appreciative of being the grand winner, he donated $5,000 to the
club making this the most successful fund raiser in recent club
history.

Kiwanis Mini-Golf Tournament Raises $2000 for Rockland Emergency
Services. (ROCKPORT, MAINE – SAMOSET) - On Monday,
September 17, 2007 Rockland Fire Chief Charles Jordan, Jr. and
firefighter/paramedic, Joe Moore accepted a $2000.00 donation that
the Rockland Kiwanis Club raised through their Classic Mini Golf
Tournament held on August 23, 2007.
Specifically, the funds will be used to purchase a new battery
operated device known as the EZ-IO Drill for local EMS services.
This new technology allows EMS providers to administer life-saving
fluids and medications when traditional IV’s are impossible to
establish due to a medical or traumatic emergency. This circumstance
is encountered by more than six million patients every year, some of
which are unable to survive without this critical intervention. Ask
us for our information sheet if you’d like to know more about the EZ-IO
Drill.
