3/13/2006 Rockland Kiwanis President Carol Kelley thanks Troy Curtis, Executive Director of the Penobscot Bay YMCA, after he addressed the group. Curtis spoke of the YMCA's growth after its move to it's new facility, 2200 members to 5000 members. He noted that at the old building 15% of the members came from outside the Camden, Rockport area and now 45% of the current members are outside of Camden, Rockport. Curtis said the YMCA is working with the Rockland Recreation Department exploring the feasibilty of a YMCA satellite in Rockland.

3/6/2006 Kiwanis one the proud sponsors wishes to congratulate the Midcoast School of Technology Robotics team. This team WON THE REGIONAL COMPETITION beating out over 52 other teams from ME, NH, MD, Conn, Vermont, Calif, Canada!!   They also received two other awards- best Team Spirit and Best T-Shirt Design.
