Duckie and Priority One. John Batty, Chair of the Rockland
Kiwanis Priority One Committee presents a sample pediatric kit to
Wendelanne Augunas, Women/Health Coordinator at Pen Bay Medical
Center. The kits given contain car seat safety info., safety
outlet covers, other child safety related items, and a rubber
duckie which signals when bath water is to hot.

Rockland Kiwanis President Carol Kelley presents a Kiwanis mug to
guest speaker Kevin Varga after he spoke at a recent meeting. Varga,
a registerd nurse at Pen Bay Medical Center, spoke of his 2
humanitarian trips to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
On his recent trip Varga transported 10,000 pounds of locally
donated food and non-perishables as well as $4500.00 in cash
donations which was used to purchase 10,000 pounds of rice which he
also helped distribute.

Kiwanis President Carol Kelley presents a Kiwanis mug to guest
speaker Mike Stumbo, plant manager of FMC BioPolymer. Stumbo spoke
about the companies history, new developments, and how FMC stays
involved with the community that it has been part of since 1937.
