Rockland Kiwanis donated $500.00 to the Rockland District Middle School Destination ImagiNation team. The team will be traveling to Knoxville Tenn. to compete in the D.I. Finals. Accepting a check ( from left ) is Laura Plourde and Olivia O¹Hara, from Rockland Kiwanis President Steve Poulin.

Richard Larkin ( right ) Farnsworth Art Museum Director of Advancement accepts a thank you and Kiwanis coffee mug from Kiwanis President Steve Poulin after addressing the club at a recent meeting. Larkin spoke about the many activities planed by the Farnsworth for the remainder of the year.

Mike McMahon ( left ) was recently inducted as a member of Rockland Kiwanis. McMahon was involved in Kiwanis while in high school and is retired from the Coast Guard. He lives in Rockland with his wife Patricia and children Nathan and Emily. McMahon has been associated with Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home for nearly 16 years. Also pictured is Gordon Page ( right ) who oversaw the induction and Jane Thompson who sponsored McMahon.

Rockland Kiwanis donated 100 books printed in Spanish which will be distributed by TEC Ministries Inc. to children in grades K-3 in Pucallpa Peru which is part of the jungle near the Amazon. TEC will be holding it¹s major fundraiser for this project on April 30th at the Great Salt Bay School and for more info you may contact Meg Sawyer at 372-6489. Presenting the books is Chairperson of Rockland Kiwanis Priority 1 committee Barb Hersey (left) to Kiwanian Meg Sawyer who will be making the trip to Peru in August.
